Viagem a Itália sounds ok, mas não deve ser para um encontro com o Gionata, pelo menos se ele cumprir o que está a dizer (que só a moto é que veio de volta para Itália, não ele).

Bom, separem o que é "factual" (factual aqui vai no sentido de ser dito por ele próprio) do que é a minha interpretação sobre as suas eventuais tácticas. "Factual" é a data do acidente, as suas mensagens/notícias no site e no Facebook, os seus vídeos. Interpretação é aquilo que eu (ou outra pessoa qualquer) possa especular sobre o que sucedeu. Enquanto o Transalper vai angariar fundos para viajar até Itália à conta do corpinho, eu vou (mais logo, ao adormecer) ler mais um bocadinho da novela. Mesmo que o gajo seja um malandreco, a história parece ter a sua piada.

I feel like there is no point in being totally transparent and honest to my reader if, at the end, the information published by me on partireper.it are used against the truth.

I am working 15 hours a day in Chile to pay the re building of my bike.

I am doing whatever i can to continue my dream and I am as open as I can to any kind of help.

Having a bike accident in Bolivia, risking to lose a foot because of the Bolivian lack of hygiene in the hospital and suffering from dysentery for 6 months in a row might look like an ITALIAN ROMANCE or DRAMA to you.

But to me this is life and I don't appreciate comments on "how right or wrong" the way I manage my return on the road is.

point 4: what sponsors are you talking about? I worked for 36 months in total since I left (Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Bolivia and now Chile). Get your facts right before you list a bunch of nonsenses...

Hi Gionata,

As many of your readers, I obviously (and non-intentionally) missed some important information in your web site (I totally missed your 20th September post!) and obviously misundertood the big picture of what happened to you, regarding your bike accident in Bolivia. As it can be read in your Facebook space, many of us only realized last March, from your FB page, when you posted some photos there, that you had an accident in 2009. Some of us even thought you were just joking (pesce d'aprile?) when you announced that you would be coming home. Others didn't understand the facts and distorted them - I believe that, in part, it was due to bad understanding and bad (google?) translations from italian... Right after, I understanded you announced having received a lot of words of support and some help to rebuild your bike. Based on my (wrong!) assumptions, I thought ("conjectured", I haven't presented it as a fact!) it could have been a sort of "marketing campaign", like the many we see every day, everywhere. I did not judge (right or wrong) this hipothetic approach of yours, though... Having been careful to separate (incomplete) facts and my own interpretations, I recognize, however, that I missed important stuff and I got it wrong. Therefore, I apologize for that, Gionata.

Your adventure remains an absolute example of courage, tenacity, idealism to many of us. You are the one living the dream that many of us can only dream to live. I'll gladly help you, contributing to your adventure with a small donation. Good luck, congratulations for your example, perseverance and, again, sorry for getting it wrong.

1) May I suggest something? It would be great if we could have more material in a more universal language, like english. I know it's a lot of work, but it possibly would avoid some misunderstandings and your adventures would reach a wider audience. Your adventure is inspiring and deserves to be known as widely as possible.

Para o pessoal que não lê o inglês, aqui vai uma explicação sucinta. O Gionata leu as minhas conjecturas no post acima e deu-me na cabeça. Com razão.

Falhei (não intencionalmente) o post dele em Setembro de 2009, logo a seguir ao acidente na Bolívia, a relatar o que tinha acontecido. Acontece que muita gente que segue as suas aventuras não lê tudo no site (como eu!) e só se apercebeu do acidente em Março de 2010, quando ele postou fotografias na sua página. A anunciar o fim da sua viagem. Alguns leitores só então lhe perguntavam se estava bem e alguns até pensaram que ele estava a brincar (peta do 1º de Abril). Passado pouco tempo, anunciava que tinha conseguido ajudas para recuperar a sua moto e afinal não ia abandonar. Na altura pareceu-me, como disse atrás, pela forma como as notícias chegaram, uma manobra de marketing para chamar as atenções, como tantas que vemos todos os dias... Conquanto tenha ressalvado que se tratava da minha interpretação dos factos e de que não compreendia bem o italiano, mas reconheço que falhei a informação importante de que o acidente tinha sido anunciado na altura no web site! E pedi-lhe desculpas pela "má" interpretação dos factos incompletos que reuni na altura. Vou doar uma pequena contribuição através do seu web site.

Dear Ze Pauolo, thanks for your reply and please don't apologize to me.
Most of the italian moto forum that write against me don't even bother consulting me first so I gave up. But forumtransalp seemed to be one of the only moto forum that took the time to write me in private first and then post here.
I am always open to clarify more about my project if necessary, so thanks for taking the time to read me.

It is all marketing at the end.

There are so many others people like me around the world which don't even have a blog. Partireper.it and its philosophy benefited of the marketing effect the very same day they went public on the INTERNET. It's inevitable...

But having said this quiet frankly, I also want to say that I try as hard as I can to keep real and honest and, even though I receive a lot of help from you and all the other readers, this is caused by a reason of admiration and trust towards me and my project.

So far I do the riding, the writing, the pictures, the video, the editing, the posting, the forum moderatiion, the commenting, the social network updating, the newsletter sending and if I can I even send free gift to my most loyal readers. And apart from this I even work from 8 am to 22 5 days a week to finance myself. I HAVEN'T GOT THE TIME AND ENERGY TO WRITE IN ENGLISH.... sorry

I perceive marketing as a totally honorable and honest procedure. I do market myself, at times (don't we all do so, sometime?), although I don't take myself too seriously outside my (primary) occupation. However, as you certainly know, there's "good" and "bad" marketing, in the sense that it can be more or less honest.

In my previous judgement I was mislead (rather than lacking of clarification) by the surprise of many of your followers in Facebook when you told them than about the accident... And I did not see your original message in your site back in 2009.... If you agree, "case closed".

It wasn't a selfish observation, but rather a suggestion on how things could improve for you. The same way that your project benefits from the marketing in the internet, it could benefit event more if it could reach a much wider audience, as it would be the case if more material was released in a more universal language like english. Moreover, it could avoid some misunderstandings of italian language... But I perfectly understand what you're saying.
